About Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation can be used to create balance and symmetry, or add volume with lip injections and lip fillers, performed by our team of Doctors and Registered Nurses.

Lip injections can also be used for clients who struggle with wrinkles and fine lines in the mouth area, have thin and poorly shaped lips, or desire fuller lips.

Made from a natural sugar already present in the human body – our lip fillers are a way to replicate the function of this naturally occurring substance by restoring fullness and volume in your lips.

How it Works

4.19@x2.png
Your Laser Clinics Cosmetic Injector will have a detailed discussion with you to understand your treatment priorities. They will also review your medical history to align with treatment safety requirements.

Once the consultation is complete, a series of photos are taken which are kept on your account file and used as a progress assessment.

Next, the lips are cleaned thoroughly with a medical cleaning solution and then topical numbing cream is applied for up to 15 minutes to minimise discomfort. Once the cream has numbed the lips, the lips are once again cleaned, and the treatment process begins.

There are many different techniques that can be used in this area. Your Cosmetic Injector will focus on the areas of your lips that you most want to target. Lip filler can be used to increase the size of the lip but can also be used to define or shape the lips.

Have a question not listed below? Visit our FAQ page to find more answers and info about our complete range of laser, skin, body, and cosmetic procedures.

  • Are lip fillers safe?

Lip augmentation is an aesthetic treatment and as such should only be performed by qualified medical professionals. At Laser Clinics, it's about experience. Our team of experienced Doctors and Registered Nurses use the latest technology and facial analysis techniques, our team create a personalised treatment program for each and every client.

During your treatment, the product will be taken from the sealed box. Everything is transparent. You will be able to see exactly what is going on and what is being used. We only use the very best cosmetic injectable products that are on the market.

Top tip: Research your Cosmetic Injector and ask to see their before and after images.

  • Can I eat or drink after Lip Fillers?

Yes, you can eat and drink after Lip Filler. It may feel a little strange at first as there may be some swelling present. For the first 24 hours, you'll want to avoid eating foods that require excessive chewing so the product can settle.

  • Do lip fillers hurt?

Dermal Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. A topical anaesthetic can be used if needed. However, a topical anaesthetic can be used if needed. Please obtain this from your Pharmacist prior to your treatment.

Top tip: For the ladies, avoid booking your appointment a week before or the week of your period, as your pain sensitivity is heightened during this time.

  • What should I do prior to the Lip Filler treatment?

Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.

  • Why am I required to complete a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening prior to my inject treatment?

We want to ensure you feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. That's why we adhere to the latest guidelines set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening, developed by the Medical Board of Australia. This ensures that we maintain the highest standards of care and address any underlying mental health concerns.

  • What happens in a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening?

Our healthcare professionals will ask general questions about BDD in your medical history form upon arrival at your appointment, followed by formal screening if deemed necessary. This helps us tailor treatment plans and make informed decisions to ensure your well-being.

Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us throughout the entire screening process.
